Title: Went to court, or did we go to a circus?
Post by: Panshekay on January 13, 2017, 08:47:28 AM
Took us 5 hours to get to our sons house only to find out he was at a Urgent Care, most likely with food poisoning.  He got something for nauseas and took a "vomit bag" with him to Court.  I can't even explain what happened in court because I don't know, it was a mess.   We were supposed to meet our sons attorney at her office at 12:30, she wasn't there, her office is closed from 12 to 1. She texts him at 12:45 saying she is running late, she will be right there. So at 1 we just go over to the court house because she never showed up. At 1:25 she walks in and says she will talk to our son now. So I follow, she gives our son some papers HE had given her with letters of reference and a time line stating "I went to see my mom with the kids, next day Wife calls cps etc."  His attorney tells him  the DA still wants to dismiss the case. But His S GAL doesn't want to. Sons attorney says she is going to give this timeline to the other attorney's and judge and see if she can talk the GAL into dismissing the case. She comes back and says, ok, GAL agrees after seeing the timeline to dismiss the case. So we go into court thinking they will dismiss it ( but we know better than to have our hopes up).   The DA stands and says he is dismissing it but the GAL doesn't agree. So she stands and says she still wants to be our GS GAL and attorney in the divorce/ custody case because she thinks our son is abusive and wants to make sure she protects our GS. The judge tells everyone that the divorce/ custody case isn't until the end of June, so this isn't acceptable to wait that long, the judge says let's have a pre trial Feb 28th and trial 2 weeks later regarding this.  Then the GAL says both parents will have to split the cost of her services. This is fine with our son, even though she has never met our son, or spoken with him but continues to say he is abusive... .Now get this, Our sons wife wasn't even in court!  The judge asks her attorney where she is and  he says he is not sure, maybe it was a misunderstanding on his part, he thought they were just getting an extension today (lie) Does his wife get in trouble for this?  No. Bottom line no one knows what's going on.  After court the DHS Caseworker comes over to me and says she is glad I made it here safe. I said "what just happened in there, what does all that mean". She says she doesn't know, not to quote her but DHS wants out, they want it dismissed. She said "we don't have any concerns with Your son and GS. Now with his SD we have concerns with your son"... .? He doesn't see his SD anymore, hasn't seen her since Sept when she made false allegations that he screamed at her, grabbed her by the arm and drug her down the hall... .I was there during that visit!  None of that happened.                                                                                                               So there you have it.   I told our son that when his wife hears that she has to pay for half of the GAL you can bet there will be more complaints to CPS made against him next week. I feel like I'm in the twilight zone.
