Title: Introduction
Post by: Gratitude2 on January 26, 2017, 09:26:33 AM
Hello!
I've read the books (professional & self-help), and am looking for connection with others who are suffering with a BP mother; to share similar experiences, hear your stories & share mine as well.

Thank U4 being here!

Welcome Gratitude2:
I'm sorry that you have a BPD mom.  Glad to see you join the family here.  You will find a lot of helpful people, with experiences to share.

Many of us started out reading a book or two, before we landed here.  With books, resources on this website and participation on the boards, it can be a good support system.

How is your relationship with your mom at the current time?  Are there any other family members with mental health problems?

We look forward to hearing more of your story, when you are ready to share.

Thank U for responding & introducing yourself. I'm brand new, so it's greatly appreciated. My mom is 80 and currently, for the last few years I've tried to NOT have extended contact with her. I went through a breakup 3 years ago, and being depressed didn't go well with being around her invalidation. The characteristics of my previous relationship resembled my mother closer than anyone, and it sent me to the bottom. Hitting bottom has allowed me to see the destructiveness of their BP traits, AND what I'm doing to unconsciously perpetuate the misery.
Is it appropriate to ask which part of the world or country you are from? I wouldn't want to be chatting with a relative here

You don't need to give specific locations, but maybe just North, South, East or West? Now that I think about it, that might not be appropriate, sorry.

I've had an experience on a BP site before, and want to ensure my anonymity. My experience was that I discovered that a person on another site actually knew my family. So I don't know if it's possible, but was hoping to dialogue with people outside my area, geographically. Do U think I should talk to a moderator here? I don't want to go outside of the guidelines here, but need to ask that question. My intent is to respect everyone here, while keeping my anonymity. Thank you for listening/reading this uncomfortable question.
