Title: How to keep myself safe Post by: Loopyloo on February 07, 2017, 04:25:53 PM My adult daughter got diagnosed with BPD about 3weeks ago & she's on medication & im not sure if she's getting worse, life is a rollercoaster & it's making me feel so stressed & ill she is sending me messages while im at work saying she is going to die soon, it's just constant battles & I get blamed for most of it, it's worrying that she has children & im confused as there seems to be no professional help as yet, not sure what to expect, but the abuse is so stressful for me, I've just ordered the book walking on egg shells but am quite afraid of how to put boundaries up without causing abandonment fears, any suggestions please?

*welcome* I'd like to welcome you to bpdfamily. I'm so sorry that you're going through this. I completely understand how emotionally distressing that would feel when a family members calls you work and they're SI I'm glad that you've decided to join us, it helps to talk to others just like that can offer you advice, we're all here to support one another. You'll find that you'll fit right in, you're not alone. When we have a loved one with BPD self care is important so that we don't burn the candles at both ends. Doing a lot of self care is good when we're happier it catches on with the people that surround us, family and friends. Is your daughters dad helping her? Now getting to self care, self care is self compassion, boundaries are like an invisible outward layer that protects us, it's self compassion, you really need boundaries with a pwBPD, boundaries also assures a pwBPD when they feel like they're out of control themselves.
