Title: My Bipolar, their BPD
Post by: 314rabbit on October 25, 2024, 09:35:34 AM
Hi All,

Just had my first bipolar episode in several years, and it was one of the scariest and longest few days of my life. I think that my spouse's constant dragging of feet has created a stressful home environment that primed me for an explosive episode. I pretty much started screaming from the time I woke up, until I went to bed for several days.

In the midst of my episode, I called (and saw) my psychiatrist and she got me back to baseline. I communicated clearly with my spouse what needed to happen next, and started a clear self management plan to control my symptoms.

Once I was stabilized, my spouse just started mirroring me. I received a call from them during therapy to develop a self management plan.

It seems hopeful, but I'm wary. My spouse makes a lot of big promises that they pussy foot around on. I'm going out of town next week, and my spouse has created a big list of things they intend to accomplish.

I'll just be happy if I come home to a house that doesn't have roaches living in the sink, to be honest. Hopefully they don't invite strange men over like they did last time I was out of town...
