Title: BPD therapist
Post by: BPDstinks on December 12, 2024, 09:35:25 AM
Hi!  IF you have snow in your area, I hope you are safe & warm!  (we had 5 feet!) so...I cannot even guess who, but, someone suggested a BPD therapist for PARENTS!  Somehow, I found one, I have been going to her for a month & it is most helpful!  I am unsure if that is an option for anyone, just thought I would pass that on!

Thanks for the update, BPDstinks! Yes, even though therapists may "technically" be for pwBPD, that means that they have experience and understanding of the disorder that can help family and loved ones without BPD. So glad you found someone you connect with!

I'm in a Family Connections (https://www.borderlinepersonalitydisorder.org/family-connections/) class, and we work on DBT skills for ourselves (even though we aren't the ones with BPD). We've recently discussed "Opposite Action", for example.

Are you working on any DBT skills with your T?

hi!  not yet...we are reviewing the 9 symptoms; I have done extensive research, however, I am enjoying talking to a therapist; an outside party (other than friends or family who do not understand!) thanks!
