Title: new to thread Post by: olrun on February 09, 2017, 06:56:19 AM My partner and I had a huge argument. I go to bed early and like it dark. He turns on the lamp and leaves the room. I turned it off. He came back in and turned it on and went into the dark bathroom. I mutterd "What the heck, did he turn on the lamp and leave the damn room again". The response I got was F... .You. I was coming to bed. It never bothered you before. F... .U, I'm sleeping on the couch". I apoligized and got more FUs for my trouble. He tends to blow up about every 2-3 months. Great guy otherwise. Times like this I want to leave, but can't finacially. Today, I just can't deal with it.
Title: Re: new to thread Post by: Tattered Heart on February 09, 2017, 01:04:37 PM Welcome to the board. Sounds like many of the small things that get blown out of proportion for many of us. It's so easy to get irritated when sleeping (because who likes to be woken up suddenly?)
There are many lessons on the right side of the page that can begin to help you. One of the important things in living with a pwBPD is You can't begin to make things better until you stop making them worse. These lessons will help you learn better ways to communicate, how to take care of yourself, and more about the BPD & non dynamic. Here is one of our workshops on how to be heard: https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=69272.0 |
