Title: Exhausted Post by: Mushell829 on April 10, 2025, 07:10:51 AM Hi this is my first post. I am mentally and emotionally exhausted. My dd23 has BPD and bipolar 1 and OCD and is only taking 1 med and is refusing other medication. She had a psychotic break a few weeks ago and wound up inpatient when she was holding a knife, threatening myself and my other daughter she promised to go to an intensive outpatient program. She went for four hours and quit. She is constantly manic. she is hyperverbal she is verbally abusive. I am just so tired mentally and emotionally and I have grand dreams of disappearing.
Title: Re: Exhausted Post by: Pook075 on April 10, 2025, 11:57:18 PM Hello and welcome to the family. My story is almost exactly the same as yours, my BPD kid is 26 and we had all the same experiences.
A few questions- where does your BPD live? Are you helping with her expenses? Have you considered court-ordered in house therapy (by saying she's a threat to herself or others)? As crazy as this will sounds, you're not responsible for your BPD daughter. And the more you try to help her, the more she thinks that manipulation can allow her to avoid growing up and acting like an adult. That behavior has to stop because this is not your burden anymore. Have you considered counseling to work though this with a professional? It is so incredibly helpful to have a resource like that. |
