Title: My daughters relationship with me and her sister Post by: Longlands on May 07, 2025, 01:45:32 AM My daughter is recently diagnosed with BPD but has had symptoms since she was 13. She is awful to me and my elder daughter and often says cruel things. It has got so bad recently that she is keeping my two grandchildren away from the family even though I have more or less raised them. I am at a loss as to how to cope with her, I love her but it’s so hard to be pushed away and disrespected all the time. Does anyone have any advice please x
Title: Re: My daughters relationship with me and her sister Post by: BPDstinks on May 07, 2025, 07:35:52 AM I am so sorry to hear this news! now that I look back, I feel that my 24 y/o old daughter (pwBPD) had symptoms, I just thought she was moody! (it all makes sense now!); I MUST go on record (as I also go through the grandchild issue with my granddaughters' mother, who ALSO has BPD (what are the chances?) I loathe when kids get in this mix....that is so hurtful and painful....my ONLY advice (having gone down this road with kids' mom more times than I can count); I feel guilty, sometimes, because I FINALLY decided I cannot fix ANY of this, (I DO see a therapist who specializes in parents of pwBPD!) and want JOY, so....I have started VERY small...I went back to my Zumba classes and started doing some activities I used to do...I very much miss my pwBPD, but....the small feelings of joy get me through....feel free to reach out if you like! BEST of luck and stay strong!
