Greetings of peace and good-will.

There is hope!

Professors Kernberg, Yeomans and Clarkkins have a cure for B.P.D.! It is called T.F.P.!

Professors Marsha Linehan and Alan Fruzetti are equally helpful; see for example THE HIGH CONFLICT COUPLE. They recommend lots and lots and lots of VALIDATION; e.g. catching people doing things right; empathizing with pain, suffering, despair, and joy.

Dr Roger Sealy (Ph.D. Hahnemann Medical University, Pennsylvania) quotes Professor Kernberg in his Ph.D. Psychology dissertation on how to tame a shrew (i.e. a verbally and perhaps physically abuse person, of either gender), a real modern-day issue.

Basically:

1.  Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of loving language
2.  A bit of the language of structure and boundaries (Dr Sealy taking from the wisdom of Professors Kernberg, Yeomans and Clarkkins who have a cure for B.P.D. called T.F.P.)

Hi happilyJ,

*welcome*

I'd like to welcome you to bpdfamily, I've heard of the some of the Dr's in your post, Kernberg, Linehan, and I have not heard of TFP, just to let the other members know:

Excerpt

Transference-Focused Psychotherapy (TFP) is an evidence-based psychodynamic therapy designed for patients with the type of condition known as personality disorders. Individuals with these conditions may experience depression, anxiety and/or other intense emotions.
