Title: He filed bankruptcy in order to not pay me back... Post by: Herodias on March 23, 2017, 04:22:27 PM Well, it's official... .he has filed chapter 7 bankruptcy in order to put a stay on my being able to get reimbursed for the money it cost me to defend myself with his lawsuit against me. Apparently there is nothing I can do, because it will cost me more money to get a judgement, follow him through bankruptcy court to end up with cents on the dollar. I am really upset my attorney didn't put a freeze on his assets when he had them. Because this all took so long, he spend 50k in 6 months all on himself. With no assets to sell, other than a car(which he needs to get to work) and some guns, I don't know how he can file chapter 7 and if they don't go back more than 3 months into his bank records, they will not see that he had all of that money and spent it instead of paying his debt! In the meantime, he got a promotion at work and the girlfriend quit her job and is having home sex toy parties instead of working! All with a baby in the house. Sounds like a match made in heaven! Now he supporting all of us! Ridiculous... .they are still not married interestingly enough- this surprises me since most pwBPD get married so quickly. He did say he "didn't want to marry her due to not wanting to pay her alimony and child support due to the future women." Maybe he really meant that? I just don't understand how he is getting away with all of this... .I wonder if his bankruptcy is denied, maybe I can try again... .It's thousands of dollars he owes me. I am feeling so defeated. At the same time, this is going on entirely too long. Plus he is in contempt of court and I can't do anything about that either. This is all so unfair.

Post by: GaGrl on March 23, 2017, 04:31:16 PM I believe that, rather than trying to get a judgement from his bankruptcy filing, you can do something along the lines of protesting his filing. You can then present records to support why his debt to you should not be dismissed.

Post by: Herodias on March 23, 2017, 04:49:52 PM Thanks, we don't have a judgement yet to force him to pay and he has filed in another state. My attorney seems to be letting all of this go... .It is really frustrating. I think she doesn't want to spend any more of my money, which sounds ridiculous knowing she is an attorney, but I think she finally believes me about him and I think she knows she screwed up.
