Title: Health Insurance Form- Tax question Post by: Herodias on April 03, 2017, 07:18:06 PM Hi, I have done my taxes online, but was asked if I had a 1095-A form. My ex would have gotten this form since he was the one who had me insured for the first part of 2016. He sent me a copy the year before with no problem. I emailed him asking him to please send me a copy 3 weeks ago for this years form, which he ignored. Today I emailed him and later called to make sure he wasn't blocking me or had changed his email. I politely asked for a copy on his voicemail. I don't have to have this for my taxes right now, but if for some reason I got audited or questioned about this, I would like to have the paper copy. Should I just not worry about it and tell the IRS my ex will not give me a copy? I also asked his lawyer 3 weeks ago and he never responded. I think his lawyer is no longer working for him since he never paid him. This is so ridiculous, but I was worried the longer it goes, the harder it will be to get a copy if I need it... .on the other hand I may not need it at all. Any ideas what to do? He is completely ignoring me. So frustrating!

I'm not sure if they will give you the information because you are divorced and he was the insured but it might be worth a try. If they can't release it to you maybe they can give some feedback on what others have done in your situation. You could also ask the IRS. I would definitely document that you have asked for it.
