Title: How to respond?
Post by: SurvivorMom on April 24, 2017, 05:28:03 AM
All,

After spending the first few pleasant hours with my daughter (16) in nearly a year... .how should i respond, when I happen to see her in town (small) or school (she's a student where I teach) ? Just a nod, I'm thinking? Let her come to me?

It quite literally made my life better just to spend a few hours with her last week... .she was kind, engaged in conversation about S besides herself, and genuinely fun to be with... .

I know, like all things, this too shall pass... .But I feel I could, seriously, die happy just knowing there is hope.

Hi survivormom

Do you feel that you could ask your daughter how or if she'd like to be acknowledged when she's with her friends or just passing by in town?

It's a reasonable question to ask, if you can ask it, expressing your concern and wanting to get things right for the both of you. By agreeing in advance then both of you would feel less stressed.
