Title: Funny Story...
Post by: publicdefender on May 12, 2017, 12:51:02 AM
So, funny story.  I was at a bar downtown with my junior attorneys (in case anyone is unfamiliar I'm a public defender).  My ex BPD comes in with her dog, along with some of her friends so we move outside.  At some point, around 11:30 the cops come in.  Knowing we're on duty this week and knowing the chief who is in the bar I try to make my way to him.

Out of nowhere I get a shoulder check by one of my ex's friends, who then asks me if I'm going to the bathroom or if I'm going to go mess with her.  At first I look at him confused, because I'm actually trying to do my job, then I'm thinking "what the heck has she been telling these people about me?"  I just say to him "seriously man?  You don't even know me and I'm trying to do my job." and he just grunts and keeps standing in front of me.

So... .what do I do about all of this?  I had a good talk with the police afterwards, but I don't need guys out of nowhere popping me.

You certainly don't need random guys popping you for no reason !

You handled the situation well. Did any of the junior attorneys notice? Is this the first time something like this has happened?
