Title: 30 Days to Trial
Post by: Mika1739 on June 26, 2017, 10:17:23 PM
I've been 2 years into building my case against BPDx(divorced 2007) and constantly intervening to protect my children, I won't go into details but every type of BPD behavior you could imagine is in play.  We have a 14 and 10 year old and last year was a nightmare. I filed a motion to modify our 50/50 in August 2016, got emergency order for temporary full custody in October and it's been a bunch of hearings but here we are with a trial starting 8/1.

I am actually super excited and anxious to proceed and have done nothing that would cause me to worry. I've paid to date $25k for my attorney who actually gives attorneys a great name.  He has guided me wonderfully and coached me in maintaining my self-control so I have built a stable and calm demeanor to GAL, court ordered therapist, Judge and even her attorney.

It's like I've been climbing Everest and I can see the peak, just a little further to go, I haven't come this far to be scared, I'm ready.  My question is if anyone has been through trial how did you survive.  I am having a hard time thinking of anything but my trial and the zillion questions swirling.  My interest at work is stifled because I just can't wait to close this chapter and MOVE ON.  I know most people have sort of a mixed feeling about their legal experience. I am the exception to that rule, I studied BPD long before the case started and I played the legal system with politic all for the best interest of my children. My BPDx has absolutely been her own worst enemy and the Judge already warned her attorney that she expects us to agree to an Order that gives me full custody and has parenting time for her only in therapy but there was no way she was going to voluntarily agree to that so here we go.
