Title: Children Post by: Woodstockgirl on July 05, 2017, 05:32:53 PM Hi, I have a 28 year old daughter who had been diagnosed with mood disorder. My daughter was addicted to heroin at 20 years old. I had to send her to Florida to a rehab. She was there for 7 years and stayed sober until last year. I decided it was time to bring her back to NY. My daughter wasn't getting any better. I sent her to psychiatrists but nothing. My daughter was dishonest with every dr she was seeing. Finally, two months ago I had had enough. She was in bed most of the time and then she might have three good weeks and then depression again. When she goes through the state of depression she doesn't eat and her room is so disorganized and messy. I get angry because I don't really understand the disease. I took her to a new psychiatrist about two months ago. She was finally honest with this psychiatrist. Dr put her on 100 mg of lamictal and started weaning her off Effexor. Now she is on 75 mg lexapro. Today I had to make an emergency appointment with the doctor because last night she was hysterical saying she didn't want to live. The dr raised her lamictal and might start her with Latuda. It's so hard not to get frustrated seeing her in bed. It makes me so sad. Finally, after a little research I discovered this group! I hope to learn from others experiences.

*welcome* I'd like to welcome you to bpdfamily. I'm glad that you have found us, there is hope. Many of our members here can relate with you and offer you guidance and support. BPD has the most comorbid mental illnesses than any other mental disorder and experts don't know why. Most often but not always there's an underlying clinical depression that doctors like to have treated first before treating the disorder because of the depression is under control it lessens the BPD traits. Is your D 27 now? Was she diagnosed with BPD? |
