Title: How to support someone with BPD and support myself Post by: Lit13 on July 08, 2017, 06:15:37 PM My husband has BPD and is consistently dishonest. After learning of a long term affair with a co worker the drama of lies continued until he finally found a new job 7 months later. Trust has been so badly broken and he still continues to lie, the difficult part is he has no trust in me and belief that I want to try and make this work. I would like to save my family and use this experience to grow in our communication and the lies are just very hard to understand and accept. He is in therapy and has workbooks he is using for DBT and is not consistent with the work in them. Are there support groups for families to get some advice and support?

Most members here can empathise with your experiences. Please educate yourself around your husband's condition. Look after your children and yourself, make use of any support available here & through family friends. Ask questions here, read the literature, watch the videos, keep sane. Good luck & best wishes. *welcome* I'd like echo Pedro, we're a suppport group for the non disordered partner, welcome to bpdfamily! I'm sorry to hear that you're going through a difficult part in your r/s, I completely understand what that feels like when trust erodes. I wonder if your seeing a T to help you with his infidelity and trust? The best care for yourself is to see a T concurrently with a support group. Many of us here can relate with you and give you guidance and support. You're not alone. How old are your kids? |
