Title: I used to be so strong inside and out - over 4 years of this and i'm exhausted
Post by: halloween365 on August 03, 2017, 12:23:23 AM
too tired to explain the background and everything that's happened, but we've reached the point where my girlfriend is literally having a panic attack everyday about performing the most basic adult tasks.  anything that requires her being independent (going into the office for work, driving, coming to my place to hang out, going on a date, going to grocery store, going to a child's birthday party, going out with adult friends to dinner, cleaning her apartment, and on and on) cause such distress aka full blown panic attack.  and this everyday for the past several months.  i feel like i have a child and i'm exhausted by it.  every day i try to be a therapist which i'm not but after the amount of research i've done and the experiences i've had with her and her entire PD'd family, i feel pretty confident i'm a "borderline" expert on PD's (pun intended).  i often remember the person i was before i met her and get emotional because i'm half that person today and i'm only 33.  the only reason i've stuck around this long is because i feel so sorry for her and no challenge (no matter how great) has ever stopped me... .but i just don't think i can face this one much longer.  it's so hard and i've tried everything.  i feel so sorry for her and her experiences and the way she lives... .it's gutwrenching and breaks my heart.  i never knew people lived like this. i've always loved life and tried to live it to the fullest, but that time is a distant past.  thanks for listening! ~p

It sounds like she's suffering from severe anxiety.  From a clinical perspective,  she could suffer from that as well.  If she's getting worse,  can you identify a trigger on her life which may have contributed, like work or family issues?

We have lessons to the right of the board which may help in the meantime--->
