Hi, I knew my SO had depression/anxiety issues all along, she has always known it too. She finally went to a therapist who diagnosed her with GAD. I have been depressed person my whole life, even as a child. So we both are starting off in a challenging situation. We have been married for a little over a decade and it's been one thing after another. I could go on and on but obviously you guys know the drill.
Mental health issues run strongly in my family and I am fascinated by it so I read everything related to that I can get my hands on. I started quit waking on egg shells and I started to suspect that my wife has BPD. So, I'm going through the book and learning some coping techniques.

Hello Grumpy,

Welcome to the community! You will find a lot of helpful people and resources here.

Something positive that has happened for you is your wife agreed to visit a therapist. That itself is a big challenge for people with Personality Disorders.

Now that she has visited a therapist she knows she has issues to work on. That's a great start and you are on the right track.

The first thing you can do is appreciate her for visiting a therapist and acknowledge her efforts on working on her issues. Your encouragement will go a long way to help her self-heal.

In the meantime you can focus on your own self-development and keep reading about stuff like you are doing now. If both of you work on your issues, you two will be much happier in your relationship... .that is guaranteed
