Title: BPD (undiagnosed) Chemical Imbalances, Chronic Pain, Depression, Anxiety, Autism Post by: LifeLearner01 on August 14, 2017, 01:55:30 PM Hello, am in an awkward position, whereby my partner--significant other, has many aspects of BPD, undiagnosed by a professional. The partner has three children, two with diagnosed ASD, with differing levels of function. Symptoms run varied and wide, with verbally, lashing out, especially to family, and their stories of aggressive behavior since childhood. One autistic offspring exhibits varied aggressive behavior, especially towards smaller and/or weaker individuals, yet reveals high potential in learning and memory (latter understood as ASD behavior). The other autistic reveals, typically, more passive, more socially friendly and outgoing, although sporadic bout of aggressive impulses. Myself, having my own issues with depression w/anxiety (evidence of family genetic links), chronic pains (headaches: tension, migraines, scar/adhesion, neuropathies... .), multiple trauma history and poor success with various antidepressant medications of all three-plus, categories. Came across Walsh Institute and his protocols, extended from the late, Dr Pfeiffer. Curious of the Walsh protocol success with the various topics mentioned and if other advice, tips, referrals might be available to move forward, since getting any form of nutrition, diet, let alone, medication, is extremely difficult-to-impossible, to implement. However, personal experimentation has shown some relief, mostly outside of the use of prescription drugs, e.g., nutrition, diet, exercise, cognitive approaches. Attempts to fully balance myself and intervene to assist others has shown little help, or hopeless.
Of course, there is more to the entire picture, though following varied research and experience, it seems that chemistry is the underlying cause, within such bio- and neurochemistry as: neurotransmitters, hormones and epigenetics. The side-effects of medications and even some natural supplements have been one drawback, the other is the mental aspects believed to be linked to the bouncing moods, attitudes and lashing out. Lowering stress levels has been a major goal, which has shown positive results with adding a religious aspect, reliving the BPD-partner's nurturing/upbringing and core of solace, though linked to some delusional reports It seems that more exacting diagnoses for all could assist in some relief and hopeful recovery for all involve. Am wondering if anyone could assist with how to guide those (psychologically?) into seeking help where overwhelming knowledge and a sixth sense is claimed, even in my own condition, with claims of the abilities to cure me, though inability to review their own uncontrollable behaviors. Of course, the idea of leaving the situation has come to mind, however, I have not come to a reliable and stable personal answer to recovery or even a decent balance. Then again, the environment has proven to be a very negative impact on it all. Thank you, in advance, for any and all advice! :) Title: Re: BPD (undiagnosed) Chemical Imbalances, Chronic Pain, Depression, Anxiety, Autism Post by: Turkish on August 14, 2017, 10:07:09 PM My 7 year old son has Level 1 Autism (what they used to call Asperger's). Due to being easily triggered by changes in environment, the ASD traits can certainly manifest when witness to unstable behaviors, especially by a parent. My son's mom, for example, has expressed concern to his therapy provider over his head slapping. I've rarely observed this. He did it the other day, and I talked him into stopping with just a few soothing words. I think his mom doesn't know what to do, which is a problem given she can be a trigger (clinical anxiety, a short fuse, etc.)
Using a "sixth sense" to diagnose and cure someone borders, no pun intended, on magical thinking. https://bpdfamily.com/content/how-to-get-borderline-into-therapy It sounds like you are at an impasse, yes? It may be hard to move forward, but it can help to narrow things down. You might start with taking a look at the lessons on the Improving Board: Here, or the right margin to pick and choose topics: https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=56206.0 *welcome* Turkish |
