Title: Hello
Post by: EBmom23 on August 18, 2017, 06:51:06 AM
Hello. I just joined. My 11 year old daughter has had anxiety her whole life, but in recent years I have worried that there was more to it. Her behavior has gotten worse and recently her therapist shared with my husband and I that she's thinking she may have BPD. This was not a huge shock, as my husband had brought it up before. However, having that thrown out there was devastating to me. My emotions have been all over the place since then. We just returned from vacation where she made life very challenging and hurt me/threatened me a few times.  I feel so angry with her all the time because she makes our lives so difficult, but I know that's not fair. I'm just really struggling

Hello EBMom23 and welcome to bpdfamily

I'm glad you've reached out for support and so sorry what you are dealing with your young daughter, your emotions have been all over the place, parents here understand, you are not alone.  This is a safe place to share how you feel, you're really struggling.  You say your daughter hurt you/threatened you is concerning, how are you responding to this behaviour? Is the therapist suggesting an assessment is carried out?
