Title: My boyfriend is married
Post by: freewheel on September 02, 2017, 08:51:46 AM
35, single, and wanting to have a family. I have a boyfriend for more than 2 years in a relationship. We decided to get married early this year only found out that he's married to his ex-partner. He said that his marriage was null and void because his ex-partner was married already with her 1st partner. When we get the certificate of no marriage it appears that they are legally married. Now, she left him and decided to be with another man. They live in another country so they don't have any communication anymore. I decided to break up with him but I love him. In my country, we don't have yet divorce and annulment is a long process and very expensive. I want to have a child, too and at my age if I'm going to wait for him to be free and get married,it would take years.

I don't know what to do.

Hi freewheel,

It's complicated. Have you have thought about starting a new r/s with someone different? Does your bf have BPD?

Dear freewheel

How did you feel when you discovered that your partner is already married ?
How did you feel when you realized he never told you that ?

xx

He said that his marriage was null and void because his ex-partner was married already with her 1st partner. When we get the certificate of no marriage it appears that they are legally married.

This is just what he did to you... .seems like kind of a coincidence to me... .kind of fishy.  :)o you believe he was truthful with you about his availability to be in a relationship?

Even if he was honest and this is just a big mistake, I would definitely put any plans about having children on hold.

I feel devastated. I tried to understand his situation because even his family doesn't know that they are legally married. I feel betrayed not only by him also by his sisters because they are my friends.
