Title: Which Direction N.E.W.S? Post by: Damion2017 on September 05, 2017, 01:53:33 AM Have been in a relationship with my wife since July '16. I only recently(like July this year) found out she has BPD. We both go see a counselor for individual counseling and also for couples counselling. After taking to or couple's counselor when I found out about my wife she told me I needed to decide if I was going to stay in this relationship or go. I've been doing self evaluation and doing self pro's and con's but not really sure who besides our therapist I can talk to about what I'm going through, wether I should stay or go and I'm wondering if I have what it takes to be in a relationship with a borderline and who I would talk to about/ how would I find out if I have what it takes. Oddly doubt almost answers that question.

You've found a great place for support and help in your relationship. Counseling for yourself really will help you immensely. Are you experiencing any specific problems with your relaitonship or general BPD related issues? How do you usually respond in these situations? Although you are new to the board, would you be willing to share the pros and cons that you've come up with? In order to make things work, what specific areas in your own life do you think you need to begin improving? We have several workshops on many things related to being in a relationship with someone with BPD. To get you started, here is one on the Dos and Don'ts of a BPD relationship. Putting many of these tools into your communication arsenal can really make a big difference in how you react to your pwBPD and how your pwBPD responds to you. https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=62266.0 |
