Title: New to this
Post by: Gracelynn hope on September 14, 2017, 06:49:49 PM
So over the past few months a lot has happened. My father passed, I stopped speaking to my siblings, and am having strained relations with my mother. My therapist shared with me a few weeks ago that it seems like I'm the family scapegoat. After reading some about this I believe she is right. Most recently my therapists asked me to read "Stop Walking On Egg Shells." She believes my mother might have BPD. After reading a good portion of this book, i believe she is right again. I also believe and have said for some time now, that my mother has narcissistic behaviors. I am the pleaser and fixer in our family and this has taken a heavy toll on my health. Looking for support and guidance as I begin my journey toward peace and forgiveness.

Hi Gracelynn hope,

*welcome*

I'd like to join Katy-Did and welcome you to the community. I'm glad you reached out. It's so important to really support around you during difficult times like these.

I'm sorry to hear about your father's passing. After my dad died, my relationship with my sibling broke down, too. It was very painful. Things are looking better these days, although there are still challenges. There is hope!

What is the most difficult issue right now in your relationship with your mother?
