Title: Just learning about BPD with my child
Post by: Missalma on October 01, 2017, 11:25:06 PM
So we think my son had BPD it fits and helps make sense of so much over the last few years.  But I feel my mother is the same way.  I don't want my son to be like her.  She is mean, makes up stories and is so hurt full.

We are just learning about this and starting to get help.  It just hurts so much when my child puts me down and tries so hard to make me feel bad.  Nothing is ever his fault.   And when I take away computer time of the PS4 because he is not sleeping doing home work it will be constant  mood swings and being my best friend d then hating me.  My oldest son and boyfriend feel that we are always on edge.

Hello Missalma

You have come to the right place, you will find lots of resources here along with help and support from the other people on here.

I am sorry to hear about your son and also your mother, I can understand your worries and concerns that your son will be like your mother.

I understand how on edge you must be feeling, it is so hard to always know what to do for the best, sometimes it feels that whatever you do is wrong.

How old is your son?

You say that you are starting to get help, that is a good and very positive thing to do, are you seeking professional help?

I hope that with the help that you are seeking you and your family can take steps to improve your family situation. I'm also wondering whether you have good boundaries put down as you say when you take away computer time he has mood swings x
