Title: New to BPD
Post by: hopeforserenity on October 11, 2017, 08:28:30 PM
I am new to BPD and my young adult child is struggling too! I am trying to encourage my child to continue with therapy
and medications but it is very hard. My child is not living at home but is not in a healthy living environment but very
fearful of living on their own. I've been reading 3 of the most popular books on BPD but am very sad for my child because I
realize I cannot fix their issues. Words of encouragment?

Hi hopeforserenity,

I'm not a parent of BPD (my son, 7, has Asperger's, but he's in therapy), but my mother has BPD and the mother of my children shows traits.

I just wanted to greet you and say hi.

The books are good.  Have you looked at the tools in the right sidebar? It's a good place to start.

What, specifically,  is not healthy about your child's living environment?
