Title: Where do i go from here to start the help for my child
Post by: Headandsoul on October 13, 2017, 04:00:31 PM
I have found out that she has this disorder and i am not sure where to go from here.  She is 21 years old and that is not easy for us nor her.  I am not sure if i am able to do this.  I was told from my therapist that i am going to have to re-raise her at the age she is.  Is there anything else that i can go besides that and to make boundries for her.  I feel that i am going to lose all control with this.

Head and soul,
Welcome!  You are in the right place.  We are all at different stages in this journey, and we've been where you are now.  I have found that knowledge about BPD is so important.  I read "walking on Eggshells" to start, and found I could relate to a lot of it.   We have also gone to counselling with and without our BPD daughter (18).  This site is fantastic... .you can learn from others, and the information on the right side of the page is great!

What are you going through right now?  Is your daughter in counselling?

Hang in there... .you're not alone!

She is pushing the issue of alcohol and to me I feel that she should not.  But my husband feels that she can only when she is with us.  I think with her meds she should not.  Thy is all just overwhelming to me.  I am one the lack of sleep because of all of this .  I am thinking of trying to get gardanship do to the fact with other mental health issues that would be best.   She has major depression disorder with psychotic episode , with undefined  post traumatic disorder.  What do think.

Hi Headandsoul

I'm sorry you are overwhelmed,   I'm glad you joined us for support and you have the support of a therapist to help you work through this.

Can you explain what you mean when you say 'she is pushing the issue of alcohol', is she addicted?

Can you share with us a bit more about the behaviours you are dealing with.

We are here for you.
