Title: Adult child
Post by: tearbear on October 19, 2017, 12:24:48 PM
Hello my 31 year old daughter I believe has traits of BPD. I want her in my life but when ever she is around I am so tense. She is always so critical of me and everybody, family and friends. I sometime feel like I am being held hostage by her.

Hello tearbear

Welcome to bpdfamily   I'm glad you've joined us here, that feeling of being held hostage is not uncommon and felt by many parents and family members here, you are not alone.

There are things we can do to change this uncomfortable feeling and the dynamics of the relationship where our BPD has the 'control'.

I want to share this with you, does it ring any bells, is it helpful?
