When I look at the breadth and width of the whole picture, I was just the convenient scapegoat. I already knew that to some extent, but I think I grasp it more fully. I hope that helps someone. He tried to kill himself... .its more than "scapegoating" you and moving on and being well. He is in a very complicated and at times, hopeless, place. Putting some of the reason on you may be how he stays alive as accepting all his failure might be why he did attempt suicide. We all feel for your pain and the pain of your children. When he blamed me for the suicide attempt, it was way more than scapegoating. He heaped something horrible and destructive upon the head of someone who had stuck by him for years. He told that to the therapist (the same one I see), and she chewed him out. He stopped therapy soon after that. Blaming me is definitely his cause right now. |
