Title: My daughter has BPD and depression
Post by: votivefire on October 26, 2017, 02:02:30 PM
I'm new to this and just want people to talk to that are going through the same things as I am.  BPD is hard on the care taker and is mentally and physically draining.  She has been in a mental hospital for a week, see's a therapist once a week.  She had a breakdown last year near the end of her 11th grade year and was told she couldn't come back until she was released by her therapist.  She hasn't been back at school and is now going to be getting her GED(with major push from me).  I though we were going pretty good until recently when she was caught shoplifting.  She was charged with petty larceny and has court on the 15th of next month.  I can't afford an attorney for her, so she has to use the public defender.  Her attitude towards this whole thing is like its no big deal.  She's thinking she's going to talk her way out of all of it.  I don't want her to go to jail, but I also don't want her to get off easy for this.  I'm trying this tough love stuff, but its SUPER hard.
