Title: constant negativity toward me
Post by: Nadnareek on October 26, 2017, 03:36:02 PM
I find I have to leave the location where I have been serially verbally assaulted. She has struggled with anger since before I knew her, and she has talked about being abused as a child by hitting and slapping, being placed on the top of a fridge, and being threatened with being sent to a juvenile home. Her father struck her older sister and had angry episodes. Does anyone have any suggestions of what might help?

Nadnareek, you have already guessed your partner might be pwBPD.

pwBPD often have childhood histories from volatile parents who might be BPD, NPD, bipolar or have another serious mental illness.

You might want to have an empathetic conversation with your partner.  It's hard to ignore the abuse, but this might break the ice.

Under no circumstances, though, should you tolerate the abuse.
