Welcome to bpdfamily I'm so sorry your what brings you here, many parents are or have been in similar situations to you including myself with my 29DD in 2015, we understand, you are not alone. It's heart breaking to see our children in so much pain to make an attempt and self harm. Have you received advice as to recommended treatment going forwards? BPD is often co-morbid with other conditions such as depression or anxiety. Is the diagnosis BPD on it's own? I can understand trying to figure out what this next stage in life looks like, we can help support you as you work through this, how old is your child, how have they received the diagnosis? That is so incredibly scary and disheartening, I'm glad you are here. My dd's never did that though one had suicidal thoughts. I don't have any answers for you, except to keep learning and trying - for me whenever things went to a dark place reading more books and learning helped me the most to get out of it. What things are you trying now? Will your adult child be living with you? Knowing that you are trying your best to use all the knowledge and practices out there, to improve things, I think can help with peace of mind while working through this difficult time. Others here have gone through and are going through similar things, you are not alone! |
