Title: Hi. My name is Kelli Cornett. I have Borderline Personality Disorder Post by: Kelli Cornett on September 29, 2017, 07:02:21 PM I'm new to posting but a long time reader. Hello everyone. I actually have Borderline Personality Disorder.
Had an ex "non" partner. Same story as everyone else on here. One thing I really noticed during the relationship ( among many others ) was the self destructive behavior. My ex was intense about it. I could never totally understand how someone would so defensive and ruin a good thing that was going for us? Any answers about why nons are so defensive? How long were you together? How did you break up? You are right a lot of stories have similarities but our story is our own and unique Title: Re: Hi. My name is Kelli Cornett. I have Borderlin... Post by: Harley Quinn on October 01, 2017, 04:30:49 PM Hi Kelli Cornet,
I'd like to join Mutt in welcoming you to the site. Thanks for joining us by posting. When you're ready to share a bit of back story feel free to. As Mutt said, although there can be similarities each story is different, and helps us to help you work through things. Has it been long since the end of the relationship and how do you feel about things right now? To add to what Mutt shared, another slant on what you've asked may be this: Individuals with borderline personality disorder may have a pattern of undermining themselves at the moment a goal is about to be realized (e.g., dropping out of school just before graduation; regressing severely after a discussion of how well therapy is going; destroying a good relationship just when it is clear that the relationship could last). Does this fit with what you're describing? The above is taken from the DSM Definition of BPD (https://bpdfamily.com/content/borderline-personality-disorder), under Associated Features Supporting Diagnosis. I'd recommend reading the whole article if you've not already, as it may cast further light for you. Could you share some examples of what you're describing in your post? How did this manifest in your r/s? Love and light x |
