Title: 18 year marriage and 3 kids but I can’t take it anymore
Post by: Reddog1 on January 04, 2018, 11:12:22 PM
I am seriously considering filing for divorce. I have been married for almost 18 years and we have 3 kids but things are becoming increasingly unbearable. The verbal, emotional, and mental abuse have increased to physical abuse in the past six months.

Hi Reddog1,

I am sorry to hear about this... .Can you tell us more about the last 6 months especially? Are you safe now? Have you ever contacted a DV hotline for assistance?

You might want to consider taking the MOSAIC (https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=301379.0) threat assessment survey.  Taking the survey can give you a lot of insights.

This article on physical abuse may also be helpful: bpdfamily article on BPD and physical abuse (https://bpdfamily.com/content/borderline-personality-disorder-and-physical-abuse).

There are many more experienced members here with stories similar to yours who I hope will also drop by and offer support.

wishing you peace, pearlsw.
