Title: My Middle Age Son has BPD
Post by: familymatters on January 07, 2018, 09:30:14 AM
My son who is now 48 has probably had BPD since childhood but in the past 10 years his personality has gotten quite irrational.   He displays every single symptom of BPD and my daughter-in-law is at a loss as to what to do as are his three sons.    My granddaughter who he adored was killed in an auto accident three years ago which seems to have sent him over the edge.

Hi emilyhugo

Welcome to you, I'm so sorry for your loss.   It's devastating for a parent and family members to lose a child, my friends lost their daughter last year.

Can you describe your sons irrational behaviour? Has any therapy been sought at any time over the years, before or since the loss? Do you think your son recognises he is struggling?
