Title: Working through some stuff
Post by: Gnohmie on January 17, 2018, 02:37:29 PM
Hello,

There is a good possibility that I was a child that grew up in with a BPD parent. Good deal of emotional abuse and I suppose physical too, though I have only just realized this as a possibility. There was always an obsessiveness about control of my person and emotional dominance, but expression of parental love was confusing.

Both my parents are gone. No way to work things out with them now.

I'm glad that you found your way to this forum- it is a very supportive environment.

I'm sorry to hear that you lost both of your parents- please know that you can heal without them.  If you're not sure where to start or how to process what you're feeling, I'd recommend starting with lots of reading.  The threads in this forum, the articles throughout this website and the books on the suggestive reading list are a great place to start... .very emotional validating.

Welcome Gnohmie

I'm glad you found us! How is it that you've come to suspect that you had a pwBPD? My mom was uBPD. She is also gone now too, like your parents. I've found that lots of things can be worked out and healed within me since she passed (my dad is also now deceased). I think that the discovery is a huge one, no matter when you find out. There is an opportunity to do finally find answers to understanding ourselves and why we function and respond the way we do.

Have you read any articles or books that have helped to enlighten you?

Welcome!
