Title: Country western song writer in need of lyrics? Post by: BeagleGirl on February 02, 2018, 05:28:30 PM You know the joke about what you get when you play a country western song backwards?
Well I've been having one of those weeks that would be good fodder for a chart topper. Just that thought has helped me keep a smile on my face through a really rough week and I'm wondering if any of you want to add your own verse. My dog was diagnosed with cancer, She's got 6 months to live. My dad's voice loss is now permanent, No more songs or words to give. My son is failing Bible, but that's not the worst of it. He's disrespecting his teacher, treating her like a piece of s***. And did I mention that yesterday My husband agreed we're done Followed up immediately by a request "Oh will you hun... . Leave your church of 13 years and the children that you teach, So I won't feel so awkward there. Please dear, you're such a peach." This song is begging for more lyrics. Anyone else have some to add? Last week I went to a funeral And met some unexpected "guests" Guess grandpa's other life Decided to come and take his last chance at peace What could have given closure Opened up a lot of family wounds If you are looking you will find me Face down in the living room I'm done! Does my dog come back now? :) But seriously, did all of this happen? Your writing is impressive - thanks for your posts! It's great to see people jumping in and being creative/making the most of the place! :) Any other takers? Don't be shy! Dive in! Title: Re: Country western song writer in need of lyrics? Post by: Gemsforeyes on February 02, 2018, 07:58:08 PM The money in my wallet's gone
Turned up in his new britches Can't say a word, I wouldn't dare My earnings are his riches He screamed and called me names again His freedom's what he misses Then a change, a lover reappears and He pulls me close for kisses His words come tumbling from his mouth Land hollow on the floor I wonder as I stare at them Just what I'm waiting for... . If the words would ever jump to life Maybe I would follow through And get back to living with a beating heart And to myself again be true Sorry... .not feeling funny or poetic tonight. My youngest kid says she will NOT go to her father's funeral. She couldn't stand the hypocrisy. Given how poor his health is, that could be sooner rather than later. Title: Re: Country western song writer in need of lyrics? Post by: MeandThee29 on February 03, 2018, 07:25:53 AM Here's mine:
So here's mine: He says his new life without us is just fine, His house and neighborhood are the best, He has lots of new friends to wine and dine, He wants us to visit and see the rest. Meanwhile the job hunt isn't going well, My days are filled with work and chores, I wonder how I'll find my way through this h*ll, Life just seems like a bunch of closed doors. Tell me that there are better days ahead, Give me hope that I'll be better down the road, Encourage me that I'll put away what he said, Say I'm brave for keeping on with this load. I just got paid and it was just under two hundred, He's buying furniture and fancy food to dine on, I'm hoping the support arrives soon as he said, If I just had the money, I'd pack up and be gone. Title: Re: Country western song writer in need of lyrics? Post by: I Am Redeemed on February 10, 2018, 10:44:17 PM Okay, here goes, y'all forgive me but a Southern girl can't resist:
Found a trailer for rent, but the car broke down, And people don't know how to tip in this town, So I guess I'll just have to make do With a prayer and a dollar or two. The baby's been cryin, and I don't sleep good. Can't find no sitter that don't live in the 'hood. I had to give all the cats away And the goldfish died the very next day. "Can't win for losing" my daddy used to say. And it's tempting for me to see life that way. But I ain't gonna let myself down now. I'm gonna make it, though I don't know how. One of these days I'm gonna start winning- Every rusty trailer has a silver underpinning. I may have to walk ten country miles But I'll make it- God willing and the creek don't rise. :) :) :) Title: Re: Country western song writer in need of lyrics? All we need is a little sheet music, a back-up band, a nice luxurious bus and we'll be ready to hit the country fair circuit. Sounds kinda good, don't it? Gemsforeyes |
