Title: Such a roller coaster ride with my daughter, not quite sure what to expect. Post by: mamalove on February 08, 2018, 12:21:35 AM My daughter (19) is unofficially diagnosed with BPD. She suffers from drug addiction and is 6 months sober. She also is compulsively eating and gained over 50 pounds these last 5 months. She has difficulty regulating her emotions and is in therapy 2 times a week. She is residing in a sober living home 5 hours from where we live. She had to drop out of college and is non-functioning. Just recently got a job as a caregiver for a senior home. Absolutely loved the job, but couldn't handle working 40 hours per week. Quit just after being there only 2 weeks. Fear that she will never regain her health back. She is extremely impulsive and can't manage money. We are trying to set her up to get the help she needs and life skills so she can go back to school and be a functioning adult. Such a roller coaster ride, not quite sure what to expect.

*hi* Welcome to you, so glad you found us and joined our community of parents. It's great to hear your daughter is 6 months sober, that is the first step my29DD took! I've learnt to break it down to what is the priority right now, not to sweat the small stuff. Is your daughter still taking drugs? How's the therapy going? Is your DD getting on with it? Do you have family/friend support? We look forward to supporting you here, we are all listening to you. WDx Title: Re: Such a roller coaster ride with my daughter, not quite sure what to expect.
