Title: I have made so many excuses for their Dad, I've let them down so many times Post by: The Heather Garden on February 26, 2018, 01:26:19 PM Hello!
Last fall, I finally started an extensive search to figure out why my partner of 9 years acts the way he does. I thought it was NPD, then covert Narcissism, and just last week I realized its BPD. I read Stop Walking on Eggshells in 1 day. I couldn't believe what I was reading and how it was almost word for word describing him. He is a high functioning BPD. Nothing is ever his fault. We have tried marital counseling and now I realize why it didn't work. I'm hoping the relationship can be saved because I have a son and he has 2 daughters. I love my step daughters so much and feel like I'm the buffer for them. I have made so many excuses for their Dad, I've let them down so many times. This is my 3rd marriage and I don't want to fail again... .although I'm not sure I can handle it much longer. It's so reassuring to know there are others out there that might have advice and support. Glad you found us! What are some of the things that gave you the tip off that he had BPD may I ask? I hear ya about not wanting to have a marriage end! It's so hard! warmly, pearl.
