Title: New here: No contact with BPD mother for 3 years now, my life is better for it
Post by: sunflower7 on March 03, 2018, 03:27:26 AM
Hi there (wave),
I'm joining in this group to learn from all your collective experiences and for moral support.  I have a mother that most likely has high functioning BPD and narcissism.  I've been no contact with for 3 years now, boy is my life better for it.  Now in year five of therapy, things are beginning to come together and I'm finally getting a sense of myself as well as beginning to enjoy life again.  There's still a long way to go and sometimes things are really tough, but there is hope now which is wonderful.  In my late forties with depression beginning very early in life, this is really fab as I never knew life could actually feel this good.  Hooray for healing and all the amazing people and resources on the web.

Hi sunflower7,

*welcome*

I'm glad you reached out for support. I'm happy to hear that things are coming together for you after therapy and that you have hope. It's so important to have a good support system. I'm sure you'll find that this community is helpful, as members here understand the challenges of relationships with people with BPD, NPD, and other disorders.

You mentioned hope in your introduction. What is it that you are hopeful for, sunflower7?

Do you have siblings who are on a similar path of recovery?

Keep writing. It helps to share. We're here for you.
