Title: Goodnight, friends
Post by: JNChell on March 18, 2018, 08:24:25 PM
To any of you reading this, thank you for being here. When we lay down to sleep, wishing things could somehow be different, but knowing that they can’t, we have each other. We have each other here when others aren’t able to understand. It’s not their fault. They’ve never been in our shoes, and we should be glad that they haven’t. We have each other here, and we’re going to be ok. We’re going to be better for what we’ve been through. We’re going to possess mindfulness and insight. We’re going to be enlightened folks. Who knows why the Universe has us here, but here we are. We’re here together, and I believe that we are right where we’re supposed to be, right now. I’m glad to be here with all of you. Thank all of you for being here with me. Much love. Goodnight.

This website reminds me of the little dish of pennies found on the counters of convenience stores (near the cash registers) which state:

"Need a penny? Take a penny. Have a penny? Give a penny."

Step by step, we heal.

Thanks JNChell - I'm so glad we've found each other here, too.

A friend posted this on a social media platform the other day and it took the breath out of me - and reminded me of this site:

https://www.poets.org/poetsorg/poem/kindness
"Kindness" by Naomi Shihab Nye

Before you know kindness as the deepest thing inside,
you must know sorrow as the other deepest thing.
You must wake up with sorrow.
You must speak to it till your voice
catches the thread of all sorrows
and you see the size of the cloth.
Then it is only kindness that makes sense anymore,
only kindness that ties your shoes
and sends you out into the day to gaze at bread,
only kindness that raises its head
from the crowd of the world to say
It is I you have been looking for,
and then goes with you everywhere
like a shadow or a friend.

Wishing you all more and more kindness :)
