Title: Hard to sit back and watch
Post by: Ednamae on April 05, 2018, 04:02:09 PM
It makes me so sad to see my daughter come home so devestated that her friends are "leaving her". One of her friends just told her she's been a crappy friend. She's been told they can't talk to her because they can't handle her being "mental". It breaks my heart. It's such a vicious circle! Because then she's devestated because she's going to lose them. Watching and not being able to do anything is so hard!

Agony.  And if you tried to help her understanding or cope she'd crucify you for it.

I'm so sorry you had that kind of day.  I've watched one friend disappear after another, I swear it's only recently that it's occurred to me that it could be my kid - not the mean girls.

It's like being separated by one of those thick clear plastic barriers they use in prison visits (at least on tv).  There's just no getting through.  but she can see you.  I mean, maybe by nurturing yourself a little with a movie or cup of tea, shell at least see one way of coping.

Thank you! I know a lot of it is her... .and the hardest part is when they cut off ties with her. Then it's the end of the world and she just wants to die.
I take care of my mom full time, and we are always so busy with her doctor appts or meeting or therapy we don't get to spend time just having a good time. So I took her to see "I Can Only Imagine". My daughter calls in the middle of the movie. I ignore it (knowing she was at work). She keeps calling. So I thought there was an emergency. I walk out of to answer and she was having a meltdown at work. Of course it ended with me being a b#*+% and the worst person ever. She texted me towards the end of the movie to tell me she was fine-one of the managers came out and talked to her and calmed her down. She comes home a couple hours later crying her eyes out because she's such a crappy friend and no one likes her. The roller coaster just starts messing with my mind!
