Title: How to handle going away on trips Post by: Lovestrong on April 08, 2018, 09:36:01 PM I have a family trip planned for next month. I’ll be gone for 6 days but not unable to communicate. My girlfriend (pwBPD) hasn’t really expressed too much concern about me going, but I’m just curious if anyone has any perspective on how she could be feeling about this? Best way for me to make it easier for her?

Is interaction with your FOO (family of origin) generally an issue with your girlfriend, and is there a history there? Or is it more an issue of you're being away from her for a long period of time? ~ROE Title: Re: How to handle going away on trips Post by: Lovestrong on April 09, 2018, 01:23:29 AM Nope, no issue there at all. She adores my family and loves when I or us together spend time with them. It’s just more of a “me going away for the first time” kind of worry. I just want to make her feel as comforted as possible.

What BPD traits does your girlfriend exhibit and how do they fit into your concerns about the trip? Does she tend to get anxious or angry when you are away from her for too long, such as at work or out with friends? ~ROE Title: Re: How to handle going away on trips Post by: Lovestrong on April 09, 2018, 08:04:07 AM She does tend to get a bit anxious when we don’t see each other for a while. We don’t live together yet so we are both used to going 2-4ish days apart so I don’t think it’ll be too hard on her. And I plan on communicating often with her while I’m gone just to make her feel better.
