Title: Opinions exBPD song choices she's selecting?
Post by: Darkblaez on April 14, 2018, 12:10:07 PM
Just curious as to what everyone's thoughts are on this. My ex which I have had no contact with for consistently for a month since the divorce quickly moved in with her new boyfriend (poor sap she convinced him to rent a house on short order for two of our dogs she took). She forgets her phone syncs to a tablet she left behind. I noticed she is looking up song lyrics quite a lot, all of the songs are about past loves, breakups, essentially sad love songs and remembrance. Is this her actually reflecting on our relationship and feeling a loss? (she discarded me when I confronted her on yet her fourth affair). Do they even remember or feel a sense of loss for a relationship they discarded? Or maybe this is her thinking how she was the victim and relating to the lyrics. Thoughts?

I believe that mine did revisit songs, she said she did, and would mention when she heard a song play that reminded her of one of her exs. but its important to point out that it appeared to me to solely consist of the fact she was found out eventually each time and subsequently discarded . It was more a sense of shame being triggered by a song than it appeared to be re-living any feelings of "love" in the songs.

I strongly believe you are more accurate thinking along the lines of her thinking she is the victim when relating to the lyrics. The only time I saw my ex cry was out of self pity when a song played, blubbering about herself being faulted.

I still wonder why she would reflect on our relationship with these sad love songs even if she sees herself as the victim. Unless this new relationship with her current guy (which was super quick) is starting to crack? Thoughts?
