Title: How to motivate my child to get treatment Post by: Holly Ann on April 15, 2018, 08:03:49 PM Hello all, this is my first post. My daughter began mental health treatment at 13, she is 25 now. This past year she was diagnosed as having BPD. She refuses to get any treatment because she has no confidence in mental health professionals. Any advice?

Welcome! You say that your daughter was diagnosed this past year with BPD and refuses to get treatment due to a lack of confidence in mental health professionals, that must be really frustrating for you. How do you feel about that? Do you feel that she has truly accepted her diagnosis? Was there anything specific that led to her distrust of mental health professionals? It can be really hard getting a loved one into therapy, especially if there is a block, but it will be her decision whether she chooses treatment or not. At least you can be there for her, loving her and supporting her as I am sure you are already doing Title: Re: How to motivate my child to get treatment Post by: zachira on April 16, 2018, 08:45:36 AM You really care about your daughter and want her to get treatment and are wondering how to do so.
