Title: Online attacks by stbxw
Post by: Lugnut on May 24, 2018, 04:55:33 AM
Hello everyone,
I served my stbxw divorce papers about 3 weeks ago. She is not officially diagnosed with BPD but my counselor who has spent 3 or 4 sessions with her is convinced she has BPD/NPD. Well during the last month I have started an emotional affair with a very old friend/girl friend. I know it’s not the most respectful thing to be doing but she has become a part of my support group. She’s a great friend. I would also be lying if I said I didn’t have a possible romantic interest in her. Well the stbxw figured out what’s been going on between me and her and is posting all kinds of negative personal attacks about me on Facebook. I had already deactivated my Facebook account so as to minimize my contact with her but friends and family alerted me as to what she is doing.
Personally I really don’t care what she is posting on line. I know she is just looking for a reaction from me and I refuse to allow myself to feed into her craziness. Has anyone else here had to deal with this sort of thing?
Thank you.

Sorry you're going through this, it's hard enough to leave a high-conflict marriage. The divorce process can be that much more painful.

Would you be willing to reactivate your Facebook account and keep screen shots of what people are saying is there?

It sounds like you have a lawyer retained? It might be worth asking how your county and judge views social media in a divorce case, especially when there are kids involved. Every county seems to have a different take, and some judges seem more irked by this than others. How they respond depends on what state you're in, the laws there.

There's an active thread on this board about dating while divorcing. It might be helpful for your situation, too.

Thank you livnlearned.
My friends took screenshots and texted me the pictures. I certainly will be telling my lawyer about what’s going on too.
And thank you for that link. I can definitely relate.
