Title: Husband with “High-functioning” BPD
Post by: BizLady on June 09, 2018, 03:07:07 PM
Hello all... .I can’t tell you how glad I am to have found this site (got it from the Stop Walking On Eggshells Book).  Since finally discovering what my husband has, I have felt relieved, but incredibly isolated at the same time!  Most people I speak with have no idea what BPD is, and finding a therapist who specializes has been VERY difficult!  I found a great DBT practice but of course getting him to regularly has been quite a challenge.
Anyway, having some support while dealing with this is a very e citing prospect!   Nice to meet you all :)

Hi BizLady,

*welcome*

If he's in DBT,  I assume he's diagnosed with BPD?

What kinds of things are you struggling with and how can we help? Any kids?

Hi Bizlady,

*welcome*

After what you have read do you think he has all or just some of the symptoms? What are the ones that you find most difficult?

with compassion, pearl.

Hello welcome to the family!

There are some amazingly good folks here that can support and encourage you and there are some great tools to look through and help apply them.
Do you attend therapy yourself?

Welcome, BizLady!  There are already some great questions on this thread, so I won't add any!  This is a fantastic place for support and to learn coping tools.  I'll look forward to hearing more from you!
