When you’ve been there and you know how it feels to be in the flames, you want others to have sanctuary, too. Thanks for sharing, Mustbe Title: Re: Quote about helping others Post by: HopelessBroken on September 02, 2018, 10:55:35 AM I love that.
Title: Re: Quote about helping others Post by: BasementDweller on September 02, 2018, 11:16:32 AM This is a beautiful sentiment. There's a lot of that going on here on these boards. That type of empathy and support is a huge part of why so many of us here are surviving these horrible situations, one day and one kind word at a time.
(Thank you for sharing this!) Title: Re: Quote about helping others Post by: Insom on September 06, 2018, 12:58:07 PM Excerpt I love it when people who have been through hell walk through the flames carrying buckets of water for those still consumed by the fire. Great quote, Educated_Guess. Thanks for sharing. Everyone, what role do you most identify with? Are you a water-bucket-carrier? Consumed by fire? FWIW, I identify strongly with both. When I was in the relationship with my BPD-ex I was DEFINITELY carrying water. With age, though, I've learned it's a gift to give others the chance to carry water for awhile. This has allowed me to connect more with fire, feeling consumed and needing help. |
