I need someone to tell me if they or their relative has had success at treatment, and WHERE did you go? We have had our daughter in and out of hospital and treatment centers. She is bottoming out. I don't trust the system... .I have seen WAY to much incompetence. She is 24 and this is the 11th year we have been trying to help her. She says she finally wants help. She has been kicked out of facilities... .and dropped from 3 counselors and 1 psychiatrist. I NEED someplace that specializes in BPD. Has anyone heard of an academic study? A college? A treatment center? Thank you. I share in your sorrows. For me... .prayer and Jesus keep me sane, hopeful and moving forward... .sometimes one second at a time... . I'm sorry the path has been more than difficult for you these last 11 years, you've been through the ringer , you don't trust the system, your daughter has been kicked out, and dropped by counsellors, psychiatrist. You say your daughter finally wants help, is a big, positive step. It sounds she's taking on her responsibility, is determined to find her way? I'm in the UK, it works differently. I spoke with my DD about what she needed, wanted, felt safe with. We talked about the limited options. She wanted local outpatient services to engage with and she has, and most importantly she can go back to in the future, they know her and she trusts them. It's taken a load off me. Has your daughter spoken to you what she does, does not want? Might that be a starting point, to finding right care for her? I may be totally off piste am I? WDx |
