Title: Question. Do I tell my sister about BPD?
Post by: Twilightzonesib on November 02, 2018, 08:37:41 PM
Just discovered this support group.  Have question on how to deal with my sibling with possible BPD.   Do I let her know about this site and that I am looking at how to help her.    I am still walking on eggshells.

Hi and welcome.  It is good to have you here.

I would say no, don't tell her.  Telling someone you think they have BPD generally does not go over very well and can actually drive a big wedge between the two of you.

Can you tell us more about your situation?   What sort of support are you looking for?

Hi Twilightzonesib,  :hi:

I want to join Harri and once removed in welcoming you.  Here it is a safe place to post and ask questions, and we all understand so much of what you are going through.

Since this site is especially for those of us who are looking for help and support because we have someone in our life who we suspect may have BPD, I would not recommend that you share the information about this site with her. We want to support you and have you feel safe to share the struggles that you are having. Does that help to answer your question?

How else can we help you?

Wools
