Title: Re: Is this a hallmark effect of BPD/NPD on partners? Post by: Notwendy on October 21, 2018, 02:20:32 PM Nothing wrong with anger. The main issue with anger is when people act on it in the heat of the moment- as it can cloud our judgement at that time, or act in inappropriate ways ( harmful, self harmful) but I think anger gets a bad rep as something wrong. Feelings aren't wrong. They communicate something to us.
Explore it- what are you angry about? Try to pinpoint it. Sometimes this includes being angry at ourselves. Don't dwell on self punishment- we all make mistakes. Being angry can prompt us to do something for the better. Angry at no support could prompt you to find a job, angry that someone let us down may prompt us to decide who to put our trust in. Angry at a situation could prompt us to make changes. Can you turn anger into a positive action on your part? |
